If you haven't already done so guys, please contact me to confirm your attendance to the event and best of luck in representing both yourselves and the NSPL at the first ever UK National Championships event.

The presentation evening as advertised in the Federation Cup information will NOT go ahead as planned. The NSPL will announce more details regarding this at a later date.

Can I take this opportunity to offer my sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed to a truely amazing and memorable 10th Anniversary Year of the league, including the players, the teams, the refs, the crew, the sponsors, the trade, and once again, the players? Your support has made this celebratory year a season to remember. Ten years done and dusted! I can hardly believe we made it - one hell of a role-a-coster ride, but a worthwhile ride to be able to deliver ten years of quality events and some of the most memorable moments in many of our paintballing lives. The list of people to thank is simply way, way too long so if you have contributed in anyway (which if you are reading this, then you probably have), thank you so so much - ten years of the NSPL would never have happened without you.

Thanks for the quick turn around on the results Syd.

Congratulations to all the teams who have placed in each division.

London Defiance confirmed in 4th place overall in Division 1, not bad for our first season together.

We would like to take this oppertunity at thanking someone without whose drive, perserverence, judgement, passion and sheer bloody hard work this year simply would not have happened.

So from all on London Defiance ............ ** :) :D :) THANKYOU SYD :) :D :) **.

As you are aware the squad will now be attending the Fereration Cup with some support from our mates on Relentless to make up the numbers as we have team members flying to the World Cup with the legend that is Twizz.

So we will see you in Ancaster buddy, hope to see some fellow NSPL'ers there.

Laters :)

Urgh! That's what happens when you rush. Okay, all the NSPL teams that played the M5 division at Campaign have their "Semi-Final" scores to be added yet.

I've had a quick look and it doesn't appear to change any of the first placings... my apologies for the oversight and I will edit in the morning once I've had a chance to confirm all the calculations.

Well if you are getting picky why are Div 1 teams showing minus match points when NSPL scoring only shows points scored not points difference ?

That along with Nexus's CPL prelim scores based on first to 5 points and M5 scores based on 10 prelim and semi-final matches not 8 as per NSPL events ?

Again I do not think any of this is going to make a difference to the overall placings.

Marco, what are you on about?

I am not getting picky. I have made a mistake on releasing the scores for those teams that played the M5 at Campaign Cup and I am putting that right.

The M5 teams were always going to get the whole 10 games in their prelims (5 before and 5 after the re-seed). Just because PB Livescores put the five games after the re-seed under their "semi-finals" area doesn't change the fact that they are prelim games prior to knockouts/finals.

There has never been any confusion over the way points from Campaign would be transferred to the NSPL. It has always been this simple: team's points from the PRELIMS at Campaign Cup would count towards an NSPL ranking event. With the M5, all 10 games would count as the prelims as ALL teams would play them.

All scores transfer directly, regardless of any differences between how the Millennium and the NSPL have calculated scores this season.

Yep ;).

Chris - Syd - Re: NSPL 2009 - The Results wrote:Marco, what are you on about?

Well Nexus can score up to a +5 result in CPL where as Tigers, Tigers 2, Relentless and Defiance can only score up to a +4 playing SPL, Division 1 ( if applicable ) or Division 2.

That was never explained fully even after being raised by Jay in the Division 1 area of the forum, but it has now so thankyou.

It could have seemed harsh or unfair to teams in NSPL Div 2,3 or 4 who had decided not to play Campaign Cup but still played maximum number of scoring events in the NSPL only to be pipped at the post by a team able to score from an event with two more matches in it.

I do not have the time to check on that but do not think it has affected the overall results in any divisions, certainly not in Division 1 where the series champions quite rightly are London Tigers, they played every event and lost only one prelim match at an NSPL event all season plus won two out of three prelim matches at Campaign ( even if one of those matches was against a team with only 3 players at the event and they lost a point to them ;) ) so congratulations to Big Pete, Weeman, Andy, Jay, Jimmy, Darren etc etc on a great season, hope you bring the silverware south from the Federation Cup.

Would like to thank Syd once again for all his efforts this season, even if the fact we did not have a Heavens Gate this season means we did not have the opportunity to thank him and embarrass him publicly like we do normally.

Good for them! There are playing the CPL afterall and if they played that well, they deserved the points.

Yes it was! It was ALWAYS that bloody simple. I'm sick to the teeth of saying so!

What a crock of shite. The Campaign Cup was advertised as a ranking event for the NSPL from day one. If you didn't play it, you miss out on the available points. Nothing unfair about it. And guess what? It worked! The Campaign Cup was the best supported UK Millennium event for years. Everyone had a great time and it was a good end to the season for those not attending the Fed Cup. Unfair!!!!! UNFAIR?????

I tell you what, I'll let you run it next year Marco - you make all the decision and then I'm sure it will all be fair and proper.

Jesus Syd,

I am only trying to get clarity on the scoring system which you have done so thankyou.

I do not want to run your league or anyone elses, it is hard enough running a team let alone a whole series which is why I almost constantly praise and thankyou for doing so.

All season most if not all teams, players and captains have discussed their ideas for improving both your events and Wendy's in the Masters series.

We all want the same thing here, great paintball events at a cost that will not send your bank manager into meltdown run in a fair and competitive way.

I would hope the off season and next season brings all the leagues closer together in terms of structure, formats and logistics.

I for one am taking a break from paintball for the next few months to recover from the physical, mental and financial effort poured into this season, I know you do not have that luxury as your working life IS paintball.

I am also fully aware of your current feelings towards tournament paintball and paintballers in general right now so will not attempt to continue this disscussion any further.

Full marks to the NSPL for keeping to one of the original objectives of the UK Federation, encouraging teams to play CC by making it a scoring event. Something that some other affiliates seem to have forgotten about. i.e. announcing their season champions before Basildon.

It might be me, but is not the objective of the federation not only to boost tournament paintball in the UK but also to show others we are serious about it. Personally, I think the number of NSPL teams that entered and competed at CC has done this. I have posted this elsewhere on this forum, but would just like to state it again. I was out on the D2 & M5 fields for most of the games on Saturday, I was more than impressed by the way the UK teams played and conducted themselves and consider this event to have had the best level of M5 play at any Millennium I have attended.

As most of you know, I have been fortunate enough to follow the Millennium circus around Europe for some time now, not everybody gets that chance, if you want top flight paintball to come to the UK then we need to support it, with well over 30% of all the teams entered at CC being UK and Irish teams this year we showed them we are serious.

Picking holes in the scoring system is pretty pedantic really, and at the end of the day any adjustments made would have little effect on the overall standings but would probably need much more explanation to the masses.
